Common Faults and Solutions on Reactor

1. Possible causes of noise in reactor include: 

The friction between mixer and inner tank accessories like coiler, thermometer or reactor wall;
The mixer get loose;
The bulged liner strike with the mixer;
The mixer curves or the bearing is damaged.
Solutions:
Stop the operation to find problem, there should be certain space between mixer and accessories;
Stop the operation to check, tighten the bolts;
Repair or replace the bulged part;
Repair or replace the mixing supports bearing of reactor.

2. Possible causes of current of reactor exceeding the nominal value include:
The bearing is damaged;
Low temperature in and thick medium in reactor;
Fast rotating speed of the main shaft;
Big diameter of mixer.
Solutions:
Replace the mixing supports bearing of reactor;
Adjust temperature according to the operating instruction of reactor, the medium viscosity cannot be too thick;
Control the rotating speed of main shaft within certain range;
Adjust the diameter and angle of reactor mixing blade accordingly;.

3. Possible causes of abnormal working instrument like over temperature and over pressure phenomenon:

Instrument failure and non-strict control. 

Methods: inspect and repair the controlling device; follow the operation instruction strictly and stop other operations simultaneously.


4. Violent reactions caused by improper operation like improper medium proportion. 

Methods:  

Emergency pressure relief according to the operation instruction strictly. 


5. Side reaction caused by bad heat transferring or mixing performance. 

Method: available to adjust according to actual experience. Normally if the thermometer display that there is big temperature difference within certain range, need to check the probe or driving device to increase the mixer power and provide heat transferring effect. 


6. Failure gas inlet valve or the inlet gas pressure is too big. 

Method: turn off the main gas inlet valve to check.

There are various problems during the actual production, the correct method is read the operation instruction or reactor or consult the reactor manufacturer for technical guidance. Ensure each component is working in normal conditions. Please consult in time if there is problem. Note to maintain regularly according to the operation instruction of reactor, especially for high temperature and high pressure reactor to avoid loss or other influences.
